Week Nineteen Tribal Council

Kim Tribe before Tribal Council

People were getting frustrated that Cowin was still immune. It was his third week in a row, but he wasn’t apologizing to anyone for it. But even more than Cowin, they were frustrated at Jord for helping Cowin win. He explained to them that Cowin was his friend and ally, and obviously he would want someone from his alliance to win. The other guys were being unreasonable though, if they wanted to get rid of Jord just because he is good at drop kicking. A more reasonable reason to try and vote out Jord would be to limit Cowin’s power. Eventually Cowin would lose immunity, and if he didn’t have a strong ally, maybe they could get rid of him. He could be useful though for an alliance, as each one seems to be made of two people. Elliott knew that his strongest tie was with Binny. He had brought Binny back, and Binny owed him, so Elliott really felt like he would be trustworthy. The other guys knew that Binny would be trustworthy too, and maybe that would be a good reason to get rid of him. Kyle knew the only person he could trust was Scott. Silas didn’t have anyone he could trust. That was probably a goal that Silas needed to reach. He needed a friend.

Kim Tribal Council

1st Vote: Binny
2nd Vote: Binny
3rd Vote: Jord
4th Vote: Jord
5th Vote: Binny
6th Vote: Jord
Well, I have read 6 of the 7 votes, and it is currently a tie between Jord and Binny. So the 7th vote will be the tiebreaker.

And with the 4th vote against, the 7th person voted out of the Kim Tribe and the 35th person voted out of Survivor Hamilton Two is…

Jord Wilson

Jord is the guy who laid under the radar the best out of anyone. He was able to be very strategic while not seeming so. It appears the success of Cowin in the immunity challenges ended up pulling the plug on Jord’s run. Sorry buddy, I am sad to see you go.

Week Twenty on the weekend… A challenge involving teamwork, and finally some strategy. It will be an interesting week as there are two pairs: (Kyle and Scott), (Elliott and Binny) and two guys with no partners. (Cowin and Silas) Who will join up with who?

Week Nineteen

Kim Tribe

Silas had thought he had some sort of control over the tribe last week when he was able to give someone immunity. He ended up making his decision with 20 minutes left, without having any idea how things would pan out. With 15 minutes left before Tribal Council last week, three people had not yet voted. It was a mad scramble to get something organized, and in the end, it was Steve that got voted out. Elliott had lost German and Steve in back to back weeks, and now all he had left was Binny. It was not as if Binny had any sway in this tribe, just being brought back, but he did owe Elliott a lot. Silas had ended up giving immunity to Cowin, which he was very grateful for. Cowin had been getting quite nervous that he was going to be voted out. He had had some control over the tribe, but after last week he actually felt that he lost some. He had a good friend in Jord, but other than that he didn’t think there was anyone he could trust. Scott and Kyle were still allied, as were Binny and Elliott. That just left Silas, how could be seen as less of a threat because he isn’t in any serious alliance, or more of a threat because he could potentially join with any of the three pairs.

A storm had been coming on and off during the last couple of days. At nights, no one could sleep for fear of their shelter blowing away, which could leave any of them seriously injured. Today, the storm was especially terrible. Even though it was around noon, it was very dark outside. The wind was so strong that the rain stung against the castaways’ skin. But they made their way to the immunity challenge anyway.

Immunity Challenge

Today’s immunity challenge will test everyone’s physical and mental stability. Each person has a three piece puzzle which they must complete to win immunity. The problem is that all of the pieces are buried together in a huge mudpit. The castaways must retrieve piece one from the mud, bring it back to their frame, place it and then come back for piece two, and then the same with the third piece. All seven puzzles are identical however. So even if someone else retrieves piece one, any of the castaways are able to attack that person and take their piece. As I said this will be very physical, because you all need to get your pieces, and protect them all the way to your frame. Once the piece is put in the frame it cannot be removed. The first person to complete their three piece puzzle will win immunity.

The attribute weightings are as follows:

Speed: 20%
Strength: 40%
Prob-Solv: 40%
Strategy: 0%
Co-Op: 0%

So as the thunder claps and the rain comes hard, all the castaways run through the mud to the deep pit to retrieve their pieces. Silas is the first person there, but he is speared right away by Scott, with both of them going face down into the muck. Cowin spies a piece right underneath them, and first lifts and tosses Silas, and then he shoves Scott out of the way to find what turned out to be piece number one.
No one is able to stop him from getting back to his frame as Cowin goes ahead one-nothing. Kyle and Elliott fiercely battle for a piece, with Kyle able to knock Elliott down, and run off with the piece. Luckily for him he finds a piece right away, but Jord runs by and snatches it out of his slippery hands. Scott, Kyle and Jord each get one piece back to their frame, before Cowin gets his second. Soon Silas is able to get one piece as well. As Cowin finds his third piece, Elliott and Scott decided to bring Cowin down and are able to accomplish it with a huge struggle. No one notices Binny as he sneaks his second piece through the crowd and fits it into his frame. Scott is able to wrestle the piece from Cowin and he places his second in his frame as well.

Cowin: 2
Scott: 2
Binny: 2

Binny quickly finds his third piece and no one is paying attention to him and he starts to sprint towards the frame, but out of nowhere, Scott comes in with his second spear of the game and knocks the wind out of Binny. Cowin finds his third piece and begins to move if slowly towards his frame but Kyle grabs on to him trying to bring him down. Jord then runs towards them and drop kicks Kyle in the chest, knocking him down and freeing Cowin up to place his third and final piece.

Andrew Cowin wins Immunity!

This Week’s Tribal Council

Well it looks as if for the third week in a row, Cowin will end up immune. So all seven of you must vote, this week by THURSDAY NIGHT AT 11:59pm. You must all vote, but you must NOT vote for Cowin as he is immune. Good luck guys, and sorry this is so late.

Week Eighteen Tribal Council

Kim Tribe before Tribal Council

I can honestly say that with the exception of some early Margani Tribal struggles, this week’s strategizing has been the most intense. For weeks I have waited for the game to blow wide open and this could be the week. Silas won immunity, and with it, the chance to make another person immune as well. This was posing as a problem for Silas. He had to weigh his two options. He could save someone who he knew was going to be voted for, but didn’t really care about. Or he could just give it to someone who he would need later in the game as an ally. Silas was struggling with the decision, and everyone else in the tribe was nervous as well. It was funny though. Every time Silas tried to talk to someone about possible strategies involving the double immunity, they never got back to him, or skirted around the topic. He was having a hard time getting straight answers out of people, and he thought that was strange considering he could give one of them immunity.

A storm was brewing up in the sky to match the atmosphere in camp. No one knew who eachother would be voting for and some people were very scared to be potentially going home. Ever since the merge Kyle has been worried that each week could be his last, and he knew this week was no different. Cowin had felt pretty good in this tribe for the last couple of weeks, but not this one. He knew he was as vulnerable as anyone else, and for all anyone was talking to him, it could very well be him going home. Who knew what Binny was thinking. He got voted out, and it was almost as if he forgot how to play the game. He never talked to anyone, never even showed his face around camp. The guys didn’t know if they wanted to keep him around, but at least no one saw his as a legitimate threat at this point. Elliott wasn’t sure what to do. He had a small alliance with Steve, but there were some big guns like Cowin and Kyle who were getting nervous. Was this his chance to vote one of them out? Or should he try to ally with them? He may have the chance today, but would he have it later? Steve and Jord, like everyone else had no clue what was going on. They didn’t know who their alliances would be voting for, and they were worried about making a wrong choice. And everyone was wondering… Where is Scott?

Tribal Council

So as I mentioned before, Silas firstly has the honour of bestowing Immunity on one other castaway. He must choose after the votes are tallied, but before they are counted. So after everyone went up to vote, I asked Silas to tell the seven other castaways who he chose to be immune. So Silas got up and told everyone that the person he chose to give Immunity to is…
Cowin

So any votes against Cowin will not be counted. Whoever has the next highest amount of votes will be eliminated.

The Votes:

1st Vote: Cowin
2nd Vote: Binny
3rd Vote: Steve
4th Vote: Cowin
5th Vote: Steve
6th Vote: Steve
7th Vote: Steve
8th Vote: Steve

So that means with five votes against, the 6th person voted out of the Kim Tribe, and the 34th person voted out of Survivor Hamilton Two is…
the last remaining member of the original Margani Tribe...
Steve Edwards.

Oh man Steve I am sad. This is the most emotional vote for me yet. You guys have no idea how many times Steve would start talking to me over msn late at night worried that he would be voted out in the morning. He showed as much devotion and love for this game as anyone who ever played, ad I am thankful that he got to be a part of it. Good luck in your future ventures Steve.

This weekend on Survivor Hamilton Two… the final seven struggle through a very tough physical and mental challenge, and tensions continue to run high as no one person has control over this tribe.

Week Eighteen

Kim Tribe

Last week saw one of the more dominant immunity performers ousted, and replaced by one contestant who never really did hit his stride in the team immunity challenges. German had to say goodbye, but today was a happy day for one Matthew Binnington. After being voted out of his original tribe in week 6 by the Kyle alliance, Matt was back, and he was refreshed. It was also a good tribe to be joining because there were no people remaining in the game that he didn’t know prior to joining the show. His friendships didn’t help him in his original tribe, but things could be different now if he wasn’t seen as a threat. While Elliott did get to bring in one new ally, he lost his main confidant, and would now have to rely on his secondary alliances like Steve and Jord. Cowin, after eliminating German was happy to have one of his old friends back in the game, and this new development could possibly help get him farther than he expected. Kyle and Scott were happy to see German go, but they were still in the minority, and would have some work to do if they wanted to secure a spot in the final four. Silas was happy. He didn’t have to make promises, or tell lies. He was content to just play the game, not really involve himself in any alliances and just have a good time. He got to the final four in SH1, maybe he could repeat that success here.

Immunity Challenge

The number eight goes really well with tournaments, so I decided to do another one here. This time, there will be three rounds of tournament, with half of the contestants with the worst score being eliminated each time. The winner of the tournament will be immune, and as an added bonus (this is prolly the last time I am changing anything up) will also get to pick one other person to be immune as well. He will not have to say who he picks until the deadline for votes comes. Right before you guys read the votes, I will say who is immune. If the person with the most votes against is chosen to be immune, the person with the next amount of votes against will be voted out. Here we go…

First Round:
Speed: 50%
Strength: 50%
Prob-Solv: 0%
Strategy: 0%
Co-op: 0%

Eliminated: Kyle, Steve, Jord, Binny
Remaining: Scott, Cowin, Elliott, Silas

Second Round:
Speed: 0%
Strength: 0%
Prob-Solv: 0%
Strategy: 50%
Co-op: 50%

Eliminated: Cowin, Scott
Remaining: Elliott, Silas

Finals:
Speed: 0%
Strength: 0%
Prob-Solv: 50%
Strategy: 50%
Co-op: 0%

So the final round of the tournament is Silas against Elliott. And after a hard fought battle, the winner of Immunity this week is…
Silas Pedro Esq

So I expect everyone to have their vote in by Wednesday night at 11:59pm. The only person you CANNOT vote for is Silas. And as for Silas, you must give me your vote, as well as who you choose to also be immune this week by the same time.

Good luck guys. We are nearing the end.

Week Seventeen Tribal Council

Kim Tribe before Tribal Council

Cowin and Elliott were sitting pretty. Everyone else was not. Those two were the only ones who could say with complete confidence that they would still be around for week eighteen. Cowin got to pick one of the other six to go home, and Elliott got to bring back one of the 32 people who had already been voted out in Survivor Hamilton Two. Cowin knew that he had to make the most of this opportunity to get rid of one of the more influential people left in the game. The most influential people in the past were clearly Kyle and German, but there were other people who were quite the strategizers. He knew the best idea would be to take some power from the majority.

Elliott had to really think about who he could bring back that would help get him to the finals. This person had to be trustworthy, but not seen as a threat to all the other people in the game. He knew that James and Chris were dying to come back, but Elliott had to be smart about it. One or both of those guys could help him, but he was not sure about them, because everyone else might vote Chris or James out right away. There had also been requests to bring a girl back. It had been a huge sausagefest for the past couple of weeks since Mandy got voted out, and all the testosterone was starting to get to some of the guys. Elliott had a lot of things to take into account. Here we go.

Kim Tribal Council

So everyone gathered to the Tribal Council, and firstly Cowin had to get up and place his vote. The person he votes for will be asked to immediately leave the game. So after a lot of consideration, the 5th person voted out of the Kim Tribe and the 33rd person vote out of Survivor Hamilton Two is…
Our guardian “angle” Peter German

Well some people were very sad to see German go, but there was still another vote to be had. Elliott got up, placed his vote and then it was read: The person to come back to the game all the way to the final eight is…
Voted out all the way back in week six…
Matt Binnington

and his new character profile…

You can find his stats in the Kimartoleema Tribe link on the right hand side.

Well this was a crazy week wasn’t it? We lost one of the most dominant performers in the team challenges, and we brought back the guy who was so pissed when he got voted out so early. We will all miss German, but it will be good for him, cause now he can get all his school work done. Welcome back A Horse(wo)man. We missed you.

Week Eighteen of Survivor Hamilton Two… another tournament, which is worth much more than just immunity.

Week Seventeen

Kim Tribe

Last week was a shocker as two people (Silas and Dirks) decided fishing was more important than Tribal Council. So Dirks, the runner up from SH1 was unceremoniously discharged. Silas the lucky duck was not about to make the same mistake again. He knew that he had as good a chance as any at winning this game, and he was going to start to give it a bit more of his time. Right Silas? Steve, leading up to last week’s Tribal Council was very nervous that he was going to be voted out. He always liked Dirks, but was happy to see him go instead of himself, or his ally Elliott. It was as if he had a new lease on life. The sky looked bluer, the rice was less terrible and Steve was in a damn good mood. There were a couple people however that were a little unhappy that Dirks went instead of Elliott or Steve. Cowin was one of them. He worked his butt off trying to make sure that it wasn’t him that anyone voted for, and then all his hard work was wasted. Kyle and Scott didn’t want to come on too strong on German and Elliott’s alliance, but obviously it would be nice to get rid of someone who was strategically fit. German was quite ecstatic not to lose one of his main allies, plain and simple. Jord wasn’t affected.

Immunity Challenge

This week’s challenge is actually two challenges. They will both be tournaments with random weighting of attributes for each round. The winner of the first tournament will be the only person who votes this week. He will get to choose by himself who gets voted out. The winner of the second tournament will get to bring someone back to the game. This is an important one to win because whoever comes back will obviously owe a lot to whoever brings them back. Well here we go.

Tournament One: Voting Out

Round One:
Speed: 20%
Strength: 50%
Prob-Solv: 20%
Strategy: 10%
Co-Op: 0%

Silas defeats Elliott
Steve defeats Jord
Cowin defeats Kyle
German defeats Scott

Round Two:
Speed: 10%
Strength: 20%
Prob-Solv: 50%
Strategy: 20%
Co-Op: 0%

Steve defeats German
Cowin defeats Silas

Final:
Speed: 20%
Strength: 50%
Prob-Solv: 20%
Strategy: 10%
Co-Op: 0%

Cowin defeats Steve

So Cowin wins the first immunity tournament and this week will get to decide who gets voted out.

Tournament Two: Bringing Back

Round One:
Speed: 20%
Strength: 20%
Prob-Solv: 50%
Strategy: 10%
Co-Op: 0%

Elliott defeats Kyle
Scott defeats German
Silas defeats Steve
Cowin defeats Jord

Round Two:
Speed: 10%
Strength: 20%
Prob-Solv: 50%
Strategy: 20%
Co-Op: 0%

Elliott defeats Scott
Cowin defeats Silas

Final:
Speed: 50%
Strength: 10%
Prob-Solv: 20%
Strategy: 20%
Co-Op: 0%

Elliott defeats Cowin

And Elliott wins the second Immunity Tournament, and will get to bring someone back this week.

So Cowin will have to vote by this Thursday to say who he wants to vote out. He can vote for anyone BUT Elliott, who also won immunity with his victory. Elliott will also have to let me know by Thursday who he wants to bring back. It can be anyone who has been voted out prior to this week.

Week Sixteen Tribal Council

Kim Tribe before Tribal Council

Well needless to say it has been a stressful and busy week for three of the remaining nine contestants. The team of Steve, Cowin and Elliott lost the immunity challenge this week, and as such only one of the three of them could be voted out. The other six were sitting pretty, with all the power in their hands. Steve had never felt this vulnerable before. Since the beginning of the game his charm and personality had gotten him into early alliances which had always protected him. Now no alliance could save him, and he had to try and convince people to vote against Cowin. Because Steve and Elliott were still essentially in the same alliance, they knew they had to try and get as many of the six to vote against Cowin as possible. Elliott had not had an easy run to get to the merge. He was almost voted out of his original tribe, and very recently he was almost voted out over Chris. He wasn’t ready to go, so he had to convince people to vote Cowin. It was not as if Cowin would go easy however. He coasted through his first tribe, but since then every week has been a test, and he didn’t want to lose this time.

The six were not sure what to do. Kyle and Scott had to recognize the threat brought by Elliott and Steve staying together, but at least everyone knew (or thought they did) what those two guys were about. No one knew what Cowin was up to, so he was more of a loose cannon. German was in the same alliance with Elliott and Steve, so he was feeling that it would not be the most trustworthy thing to vote against one of them. The only one of the three that Jord knew was Cowin, and they were pretty good friends, so it was highly likely that he would vote against either Steve or Elliott. As camp was a pretty stressful place Silas and Dirks decided to get away from it all. So they took their boat out to fish. It was a beautiful day, and they weren’t going to let all the strategy ruin it for them.

Kim Tribal Council

Well I hate to do this so late in the game, especially when it was just an interesting vote layout, but it seems that there will be no vote this week. And that is because even on Week 16, someone missed Tribal Council. Actually, for the first time its two people. Guess who they are? Okay, I will tell you… it’s the skinny fishermen Silas Pedro Esq. and Nathan Dirks. But since I don’t want to eliminate both of them, I decided to randomly eliminate one of them.

And just so there is no doubt about my random methods, I wrote each name on slips of paper, shuffled them and put each in one hand. I had my room mate Adam Clarke pick one of my hands with Tyler Wells as a witness. The hand that Adam picked sheltered the name of the contestant that will be eliminated this week.

So the 4th person eliminated from the Kim tribe and the 32nd person eliminated from Survivor Hamilton Two is…

Nathan Dirks

And again, Survivor surprises us all. For being such a strategic lightweight, Dirks lasted way longer than I thought he would. Heck at the end there he even began to strategize a fair bit, to make his way to the final. He was the runner up of SH1, and he should be very proud of how far he came in this game.

On a side note, recently I began to think that Dirks would probably win this thing. That is the same thing I thought about Tyler last week. I guess I gotta stop making predictions.

This weekend on Week Seventeen of Survivor Hamilton Two… the week you have all been waiting for.

Sunday, March 04, 2007

Week Sixteen

Kim Tribe

Tyler and a few others had been totally surprised that five people from the tribe voted against him. But that was then, and this is now. Kyle received four votes against, and this week he wouldn’t be able to deal with that again. If he didn’t step up huge and either win immunity, or a bunch of new friends, this could be his week to say goodbye. German was still avoiding strategy, hoping that it would take away both his stress, and others’ attention on him. This was putting his main allies, Elliott and Steve in a bit of a pickle. They needed to do some talking with German, but he wasn’t available. Scott didn’t know exactly what to think about his current situation. His main ally Kyle had a lot of attention on him, but no one seemed to be worried about Scott right now. He didn’t mind though, it was just that he wasn’t sure where to look for his best options. Jord knew that he had some sort of loose alliance with the guys from his last tribe, German, Elliott and Steve, but he wasn’t sure where they stood today. Cowin was his friend, but they didn’t really have a strong alliance either. Cowin still wanted to be friends with everyone. He wanted to play all sides, but the problem was that each week someone had to go home. He knew that he would be a valuable commodity to any alliance.

Immunity Challenge

This week’s challenge is a team challenge. The nine remaining contestants will be randomly split into 3 teams of 3. When the game starts, all 3 members of each team will have to run to a giant sand pit, where each team has 6 puzzle pieces buried deep in the sand. When a piece is found, all 3 team-mates must keep a hand on it, and return the piece to the puzzle frame a hundred metres away. They must do this 6 times until all the pieces are collected. The first two tribes to collect all their pieces, bring them back to the frame, and complete their puzzles will win immunity… all 6 people. Out of team of three that loses this challenge, one of them will be going home.

The attribute weightings are as follows:

Speed: 30%
Strength: 0%
Prob-Solv: 30%
Strategy: 0%
Co-Op: 40%

And here are the three randomly determined teams:

Team One: Scott, Dirks and German
Team Two: Kyle, Silas and Jord
Team Three: Steve, Elliott and Cowin

As the challenge begins, the team of Scott, Dirks and German are at the sand pit well before the other two tribes. Before the other two teams even get there, Team One already has their first piece and is running back to the frame. Teams Two and Three find their first pieces at around the same time, and begin to run towards their frames just as Team One returns to find their second piece.

About 15 minutes into the game Team One has all their pieces, and begins to put together their puzzle. Teams Two and Three each still have to retrieve two pieces. As Team Three is running back with their 5th piece, Cowin’s hand slips off, and they have to go back to the pit with their piece and try again. Team Two gets all their pieces back to the frame just as Team One finishes their puzzle. TEAM ONE IS IMMUNE. Team Two is about halfway through their puzzle, as Team Three finally gets their pieces back. But it is too little too late as Team Two finishes their puzzle. TEAM TWO IS IMMUNE. This means that only Cowin, Steve and Elliott are NOT immune.

This Week’s Vote:

This vote will be another unique one. Only three people can potentially be voted for. So you can ONLY VOTE FOR:

Cowin
Steve
Elliott

Also, those three will NOT get a vote. So the other six will decide the fate of the three losers. These are the people who must vote by Wednesday night at 11:59pm:

Silas
Kyle
Scott
German
Jord
Dirks

Good luck losers.
