Week Five Tribal Council

Mass Elimination Week

Margani before Tribal Council

After voting out Siobhan and James the alliance was basically the full tribe at 8 people. Dirks hadn’t been part of it, but since he had may strengths in the tribe, they decided to include him instead of voting him out. So the question became who to vote out. There was a lot of strategy in the tribe so maybe someone with high strategy and low physical attributes? But there was one person who nobody trusted. It was this contestant that had been outed as a traitor in the first week that led to a tie in the voting. So because there was no clear person to vote out of the alliance based on attributes, it was time to eliminate the person who betrayed his first alliance. Without further ado…

Margani Tribal Council
1st Vote: Hinton
2nd Vote: Cam
3rd Vote: Cam
4th Vote: Cam
5th Vote: Cam
6th Vote: Cam
7th Vote: Cam
8th Vote: Cam

So the third person voted out of Margani and the 9th out of Suvivor Hamilton Two is… Cameron Hodge.

Hartolo before Tribal Council

The camp alliance was still strong in Hartolo. Its becoming uninteresting and predictable in Hartolo but that is alright. The strong are surviving and the alliance is staying together. Pitman, Cowin, German, Graham, Millar, Tyla and Cait were the seven person alliance that had already eliminated Michelle and Lauren, and most likely Clements was next in line. Despite the fact that Hartolo really needs problem solving, some people would just not consider going against their alliance. So here we stand.

Hartolo Tribal Council
1st Vote: Clements
2nd Vote: Cait
3rd Vote: Clements
4th Vote: Clements
5th Vote: Clements
6th Vote: Clements
7th Vote: Clements
8th Vote: Clements

Therefore the third person voted out of Hartolo and the 10th out of Survivor Hamilton Two is… Christopher Clements

Breema before Tribal Council

Mandy was supposed to be voted out a couple weeks ago but she was very fortunate when Gerry didn’t show up to Tribal Council. The people in Breema were confused. Nobody knew exactly who to vote out, or which person would be best to get rid of so it really would be a surprise who got voted out. Silas was really close with Fournie. Jord, Trotman, Barry and Nathalie were also close. Mandy had not really forged any strong alliances and that was why she almost got voted out. That left Micah who was becoming close with everyone. They trusted him, and it was for that reason that he was still around. So it would be a surprise to see who gets eliminated.

Breema Tribal Council
1st Vote: Micah
2nd Vote: Fournie
3rd Vote: Micah
4th Vote: Fournie
5th Vote: Fournie
6th Vote: Fournie
7th Vote: Fournie
8th Vote: Fournie

So the third person voted out of Breema and the 11th person eliminated from Suvivor Hamilton Two is… Amanda Fournie

Kichanga before Tribal Council

Last week, Kichanga had taken a step in the right direction by voting out Damien, someone who was poor in teamwork. Now they knew that they needed to keep up that trend and improve their teamwork at the cost of some of the other attributes. That being said, the main alliances in the tribe were Kyle, Tyler and Lauren and Elliott, Scott and Binny. That left Beckie and Hackett on the outskirts. But since Beckie and Hackett both had perfect teamwork there were some tough decisions to make. One alliance would have to eliminate someone from the other. No one knew who made the choice but it was commonly decided that Binny would be the guy who gets voted out this week. He had no idea it was coming, but basically everybody in the tribe decided to vote for him. Bad luck.

Kichanga Tribal Council

So with everybody getting ready to cast their votes for Binny, something unexpected happened. For the second time in Survivor Hamilton Two, someone didn’t show up to Tribal Council. Binny was saved for one week. So the third person eliminated from Kichanga and the 12th from Survivor Hamilton Two is…
Andrew Hackett

So four people were eliminated this week. Cam was voted out because of his switch in the second week. Clements was voted out despite his strengths because he was not part of the alliance. Fournie was voted out for who knows why. And Hackett was eliminated because he did not vote. Remember kids, please vote every week. I don't like eliminating you, but I will.

The weekend on Survivor Hamilton Two... a physical challenge may just save Hartolo after lowering their already dismal problem solving average. Binny tries to figure out why he was going to be eliminated. Margani struggles to find smaller alliances and Breema tries to finally make some real alliances.

Week Five

Kichanga Tribe

Upon hearing that there would be a surprise this week, the members of Kichanga were slightly happy after coming back from tribal council. They could already feel their teamwork getting a little better with the ousting of Damien, even if it was at the cost of a lessening of strategizing. While Lauren and Binny attempted to figure out which one of them Damien voted for, some of the other people in the tribe decided to go for a nice swim in the ocean. Beckie, Scott, Tyler and Elliott went for a little dip to cool off in the hot afternoon sun. While that was going on, Kyle approached Hackett to try and figure out what his strengths were in the tribe. It became blatantly obvious that Hackett’s main strength was teamwork, and that the tribe had taken a positive step in the right direction with voting Damien off, and if they got rid of Hackett they would be in the same situation. Kyle took this time off from the rest of the tribe to figure out just what everyone brought to the tribe. They had the most overall athletic tribe based mostly on the attributes of Scott, Tyler, Elliott and Beckie. Kyle and Binny really contributed mostly in the puzzle challenges, while Lauren and Hackett were great at teamwork. Lauren was also great at puzzles, while Hackett was also fast and strategic. Each person brought their own unique aspect to Kichanga, it would be hard to vote someone else out.

Margani Tribe

Their week off was nice, but now Margani knew that they would have to focus on winning again. After what they went through together, some members of the tribe like Jill, Steve and Chelsea were not about to let things get carried away again. They had a good tribe, and they should be winning from here on. Margani really did have a nice balance of all the attributes. Speed, their worst was really only led by Dirks, with Greg and Jones also helping out. Strength was slightly better with Cam, Jones and Hinton. After the physical attributes, people contributed pretty evenly to the other three aspects, problem-solving, strategizing and teamwork. Steve contributed in all three of those areas. Jill, apart from being very strong, was also strong in those three areas, especially teamwork. Chelsea led the way with her exceptional problem-solving skills, as well strategizing. This team was poised on the brink of a big move up the standings, and they knew it. If only they had any idea what this week’s challenge would bring, and what this surprise would be.

Hartolo Tribe

Things were going as planned for the boys of Mini-Yo-We plus Cowin. Two girls gone, two left. But it had begun to develop into an interesting situation. Cowin and Pitman had become pretty close with Tyla and Cait. Pitty had become so exceptionally close with Cait that they went on frequent swims that sometimes resulted in some face to face action. All these connections left Clements on the outskirts. But Clements had a lot to offer. Besides being perfect at teamwork, Clements was also a good problem solver and quick on his feet. But like the other tribes, each person in Hartolo supplied much needed attributes. Cowin and Pitman supplied strength as well as strategizing. German, Graham and Cait were spread fairly evenly through all the categories. Tyla and Millar really contributed teamwork as well. Each category was there prominently except from problem-solving. Hartolo was by far the worst tribe in that category, and they would need to improve it if they wanted to win challenges.

Breema Tribe

As you may or may not have noticed, I’m using this week to tell you guys who is really contributing what in the challenges. I will not try to mask it any longer in talks of swimming and strategy and foreplay. Silas is far and away the leader of this tribe with extraordinary speed and strategizing skills. Barry, Jord and Trotman all gave this tribe its physical identity which the rest of the tribe sorely lacked. Nathalie, Mandy and Fournie all had really good problem solving and strategizing. That only left Micah who had very good strategy and teamwork.

Immunity Challenge

And now for my special Birthday surprise to myself:

Because I have a busy weekend, and it will take me too long to do all this challenge planning stuff I have decided not to have an immunity challenge this week.

So instead, ALL FOUR tribes will be heading to Tribal Council this week. That means that I should have 32 votes in my email inbox by the time Thursday rolls around.

Keep in mind what I said about each person in each tribe and what they bring to the table. If your tribe has a weakness, take this week to try and fix it.

Happy voting.

Week Four Tribal Council

Kichanga before Tribal Council

The first tribal council had seen a fairly unanimous elimination of Lindsay Eby. Three weeks later it was time again for Kichanga to hit up the Tribal Council. Damien spent the last couple days talking to everyone he could and trying to make some sort of alliances. He was exceptional at strategizing, and if given the chance he could be a serious asset to the tribe. He just had to make that known to the rest of the tribe. Kyle spent some time talking with Scott, Elliott and Binny about their plans going further in the game to try and see if he could join up with them for the time being. Tyler and Lauren also talked with Kyle, and there was potential for a very big alliance. That left Beckie and Hackett who for all intents and purposes hadn’t attempted to make any alliances up to this point. They didn’t realize that if they took the time to make some connections they could go far in the game.

Kichanga Tribal Council
1st Vote: Binny
2nd Vote: Damien
3rd Vote: Damien
4th Vote: Lauren
5th Vote: Damien
6th Vote: Damien
7th Vote: Damien
8th Vote: Damien
9th Vote: Damien

So therefore, the second person voted out of Kichanga, and the seventh person eliminated from Survivor Hamilton Two is Damien Lorfice.

Hartolo before Tribal Council

Hartolo was the only tribe to start with four girls, and after one tribal council that number had been limited to three. If Chris Pitman had anything to say about it, the number would be lessened yet again this week. Graham, Millar and German also talked about it, and they looked at the possible people to vote out and made their decision based on who was weaker for the tribe. Cait and Tyla listened quietly while the boys talked. They didn’t make any suggestions because they didn’t want to come off as assuming, or powerful at this point in the game. Cowin didn’t even really pay attention to anything this week. He knew that he wouldn’t be voted off this week, so he had nothing to worry about. Clements knew that it could be his time, so he picked up the pace with his personal skills, as well as showing his team that he was very good at both problem-solving and teamwork. Both skills sorely lacking in Hartolo.

Hartolo Tribal Council
1st Vote: Laura
2nd Vote: Laura
3rd Vote: German
4th Vote: Laura
5th Vote: Laura
6th Vote: Laura
7th Vote: Laura
8th Vote: Laura
9th Vote: Laura

So Laura Graham is the second person voted out of Hartolo, and the eighth person eliminated from Survivor Hamilton Two.

So Damien I truly am sorry that you went so early. I really was looking forward to seeing what you would do in this game. Laura, I know that you are going away soon, so good on ya for kind of forfeiting. I hope you have a good time.

This weekend on Survivor Hamilton Two… it’s my birthday and I’m gonna give myself a present… muahaha.

Week Four

Kichanga Tribe

After two straight weeks of avoiding Tribal Council, the members of Kichanga decided they deserved a party. So Binny and Elliott went out on the water to catch a load of fish, Hackett and Damien attempted to bury the hatchet as they built a fire together, and the rest of the tribe went out to try and find some fruit. When they all came together it was time to dance. Binny took off his shirt and began to dance around the fire, chanting weird sounds, and made up words, while Hackett played drums (sticks and stumps) They were all so happy, that they danced into the night, with reckless abandon for the challenge they had coming up the next morning. Kyle took this time to talk to Tyler and Lauren about strategy for the rest of the game. Damien decided that he was going to try and hook up with the camp guys (Binny, Scott and Elliott) because it would be in his best interest to try and make some sort of alliance.

Margani Tribe

After two straight weeks of attending Tribal Council, Margani was emotionally drained. They did not know what they would do if they had to go to Tribal Council again. They had voted off Siobhan and James, but voting out Dirks next would not be so easy because the tribe needed his speed and smarts for their future challenges. So it was up to the alliance of 7 to include Dirks. Although you can’t have an alliance with all the members of the tribe, the alliance wanted Dirks to feel comfortable, because odds were they were not going to vote him out next. This all meant that people were going to have to start making mini alliances within their group. New alliance were a sure thing, and nobody wanted to be left out. The church people, Chelsea, Greg and Jill, were very tight, and Cam had sort of fallen out of favour with them. But he was the strongest person in the tribe, so he had to be included somewhere. The guys who had been on the outside looking in, Steve, Matt and Jones, were now the centres of attention as they entered free agency.

Hartolo Tribe

Clements spent the morning fishing with Cowin and Pitman. The three of them discussed plans for the rest of the game, as well as which of the remaining girls was the prettiest. Graham, German and Millar decided to cook some food and really got into some strategy as well. Up to this point, Pitman had really been calling the shots, and it wasn’t necessarily taking them to a bad place, but they wanted to have some control in the game as well. Cait and Tyla who helped vote out Michelle the last time they were at Tribal Council decided to explain to Laura why they did what they did, and it came out that both Tyla and Cait had made agreements with Pitman and Cowin. Laura didn’t like that one bit, and decided to figure out a way to get the girls back on her side.

Breema Tribe

The tribe had been shocked when Gerry didn’t show up to the last Tribal Council and was eliminated. It wasn’t a secret that the tribe had decided to vote Mandy out, and about that she was so confused. Mandy had not been weak in the challenges, she had not gotten in any fights or arguments. She just could not figure out why they had wanted to vote her out. All that being said, it was now time for Mandy to convince Breema that they should keep her around. She was just as qualified in the mental challenges as any of the other people in the tribe, and she was definitely more athletic than both of the other girls. Micah had been shocked when Gerry didn’t show up, because he had been his main ally. Barry, Trotman and Jord who had also wanted to get rid of Mandy, didn’t know exactly what to do now. They would have to win this challenge, or it seemed that Mandy would be going home.

Immunity Challenge

This weeks immunity challenge is kinda complicated so I will try to be brief. I will also make use of the point form method for its ease and understandability.
- Every tribe member except one will stand on a small pole out in the water
- The other tribe member will shoot water balloons with a slingshot out for their tribemates to catch
- The object of the game is for each tribe to catch as many water balloons as possible in 15 minutes
- The slingshot people will also be able to shoot harder at the other tribes’ people to knock them off their poles
- If you fall of your pole you are eliminated from competition

The attribute weightings are as follows:

Speed: 0%
Strength: 0%
Problem-Solving: 0%
Strategizing: 60%
Teamwork: 40%

One member from each of Kichanga and Hartolo will have to sit out. The other tribes choose to sit out Elliott from Kichanga and Cowin from Hartolo. For each tribe, the shooters will be Hackett from Kichanga, Jones from Margani, German from Hartolo and Silas from Breema.

I will only tell you, for the sake of time, what the results are at the end of the game.

Final Results

People left on their poles: Damien, Lauren, Steve, Jill, Greg, Graham, Cait, Micah, Trotman, Mandy, Fournie.

Kichanga: 5 balloons caught
Margani: 7 balloons caught
Hartolo: 4 balloons caught
Breema: 10 balloons caught

So Margani and Breema win Immunity, while Kichanga and Hartolo will have to go to Tribal Council this week.

Keys to Victory (Defeat)

Margani: This tribe did well almost solely based on the hard work of Jones and Steve. Jones was able to knock many other contestants off their platforms, while Steve caught 5 of their 7 balloons. Dirks went for a balloon out of his reach and fell early, while the rest of the tribe did a very good job playing smart. This team was built for this type of challenge and probably proved many critics wrong by winning this challenge.

Breema: Again, this challenge was perfect for a tribe like Breema. It didn’t involve a lot of athletic ability, but it involved playing smart and guys like Micah, Trotman and Silas did a great job, as did Mandy and Fournie. There really wasn’t a weak link in this challenge, but if someone had to be chosen… Barry fell off pretty early pulling a Dirks, and Nathalie also fell quite soon after the game started.

(Kichanga): While Hackett’s accuracy and strategizing was never in question, the poor showing by his teammates was. Hackett and Damien were really the only people on the tribe who made an impact. All of Tyler, Binny, Kyle, Beckie and Heidman fell off very early stretching to reach for balloons or getting knocked off by the other tribes’ shooters. Their lack of communication really hurt their results.

(Hartolo): A game like this involving some finesse was lost on Hartolo. While Graham and Cait did all the catching, Millar and Pitman fell off super early, and the rest of the team was not far behind. It was a terrible showing by Hartolo and one which exploited their lack of teamwork as well. They have the skills, but they need to be refined if Hartolo is not going to keep losing the challenges that don’t involve athleticism.

So here we are again. This week as I said before, Kichanga and Hartolo must vote. Please vote promptly because I don’t want to have to eliminate someone I like I had to do with Gerry last week. These are the people who have to vote:

Kichanga:
Tyler
Kyle
Lauren
Binny
Scott
Elliott
Damien
Hackett
Beckie

Hartolo:
Clements
Laura
Pitman
Tyla
Millar
Cowin
Cait
German

Graham

Week Three Tribal Council

Margani before Tribal Council

Last week, Margani's Tribal Council led to a tie. There was then a revote, and thanks to one contestant not voting, Siobhan was eliminated 4 votes to 3. This week, Margani would be looking to avoid such a controversial outcome. The "winning" alliance last week, consisted primarily of Jill, Chelsea, Greg and Cam. They had however been talking to guys like Steve, Jones and Matt. That made seven, but as the vote was tied 5-5, you can see where the problems began. Now that Siobhan was outta there, the alliance decided it was time to take a stranglehold on the Tribe. They would most certainly have a numbers advantage this week, so it should be a piece of cake. James and Dirks, however, would not surrender so easily. They had tried to eliminate Greg in week 2, and now it was time to start getting those crossover guys back on their side. James, believing he still had sway in the tribe, promised guys like Matt and Steve to come over to their side. He said that he would probably be able to get Jones and maybe Cam, so they would have an alliance. Steve and Matt listened, but were not sure it was a good idea.

Margani Tribal Council
1st Vote: Chelsea
2nd Vote: James
3rd Vote: James
4th Vote: Chelsea
5th Vote: James
6th Vote: James
7th Vote: James
8th Vote: James
9th Vote: James

So with 7 of 9 votes, James Lee is the second person voted out of Margani, and the fifth contestant eliminated from Surivor Hamilton Two.

Breema before Tribal Council

After winning immunity in the second week, Breema had enjoyed a break from Tribal Council. But that break was over. One of the problems that Margani had was that the tribe was split in two halves. Breema does not have this problem. Breema's problem is that every contestant is playing eachother. It is very dangerous in Breema to try and make plans, because 9 seconds after you open your mouth, the whole tribe knows what you are planning. Micah didn't care if people knew what he was planning, because it wasn't very dastardly. He just wanted everyone to trust him, so he spent a lot of time nodding his head and agreeing with everybody. Jord, Trotman and Barry began to plan on how to make it to the end, and talked to Silas and Nathalie to see what they wanted, and who they wanted to join with. Fournie didn't like people trying to recruit Silas, and pulled him away to talk to him about what the girls wanted to do. Gerry spent a lot of time alone before Tribal Council. He didn't like all the strategizing too much, and had a hard time respecting those that go behind others' backs. The girls suggested voting one of the boys out, but Silas in particular thought that was a very bad idea. Nathalie, Silas and Fournie made a decision, maybe it was time to get rid of the third girl, Mandy.

Breema Tribal Council

So here's the problem... as of 11:59 last night, I was still waiting on one contestant's vote. Unfortunately, as per the rules, this person is eliminated. So the second person eliminated from Breema, and the sixth from Survivor Hamilton Two is...
Gerry Kroezen

So I have yet another piece of advice. If you are going to be pretty busy midweek, please just email me with your vote right after you read the Immunity Challenge. Even if your vote ends up being a random one, at least you won't be eliminated if you forget on Wednesday. You can always change it, any time up until I get all the votes. (which is usually Wed. evening sometime)

So, Gerry, I'm sorry that I had to vote you out. I said that I would in the email, so I guess you knew what would happen. Thanks for asking to be a part of this though, I really appreciate it. James Lee... I guess you weren't expecting that eh?

Guys post comments about these two guys' gameplay, and also I am tinkering with a new tie-break method based on who posts the most comments. Its just my way of rewarding those who are more devoted.

This weekend on Survivor Hamilton Two... finally a challenge based on Problem-Solving and Strategizing. Breema deals with the unexpected turn of events at their Tribal Council, and Kichanga parties a little too hard while celebrating two wins in a row.

Saturday, November 11, 2006

Week Three

Second Margani Tribal Council

So after accumulating secondary votes for either Greg Beurling OR Siobhan Wilson, I ended up with 7 of a possible 8 votes. 3 people switched their vote from Greg to Siobhan or vice versa. This tribe is a mess, hopefully they can work together and heal their trust issues. Without further ado, here are the votes…

1st Vote: Greg
2nd vote: Siobhan
3rd Vote: Greg
4th Vote: Greg
5th Vote: Siobhan
6th Vote: Siobhan
7th Vote: Siobhan

And with the seventh and final vote, the first person voted out of Margani and the fourth out of Survivor Hamilton Two is…

Siobhan Wilson

Post and congratulate Siobhan for a tough, hard-fought battle. It was definitely a close one.

And Now… Week Three

Kichanga Tribe

Not having to go to Tribal Council was a pretty nice feeling. Some members of the tribe knew how tough it was to try to convince others to join their alliance without being bossy, or seeming too untrustworthy. Just like last week, things between Damien and Hackett had not improved, but at least they were trying to make sure it did not affect the moods of the rest of the tribe. Lauren spent the last week trying to convince the boys in the tribe of her strengths, and that they could really use her in the challenges. For the most part, people believed her, but Elliott, Binny and Scott didn’t really think that she was necessary. Tyler and Kyle spent a lot of time talking, because they were pretty close, and they began to put together some strategies for later on in the game. After winning last week, Kichanga was very confident that they would not be back to Tribal Council in some time.

Margani Tribe

After the double Tribal Council vote, Margani was tired. Half of the tribe had tried to get rid of Greg and failed. The other half, was pleased to get their way with the elimination of Siobhan, but it took its toll on tribe life. Nobody trusted eachother any longer because there had been backstabbing already, and everyone had their own ideas of who it was. Jill decided that this was not good for the tribe at such an early point in the game, when they needed to win challenges. So she brought the tribe together to have a discussion about how the tribe should function from now on. Dirks thought that it would be good to just eliminate the weak links from now on, which got the instant approval of James. Steve suggested that the tribe focus on keeping tribe mates who have each attribute that is necessary to the challenges. This idea worked better, but the problem was... Who decided who to vote out? Hinton thought that the same thing would happen all over again, and Jones agreed with him.

Hartolo Tribe

As expected, the majority of the tribe had come together to vote Michelle out at Tribal Council. While some people had voted for Cowin and German, those people really had not made any effort to make a strong alliance and put together some votes. It really seemed like there were no surprises in store for Hartolo. Pitman felt pretty confident in his alliance with all the Mini-Yo-We guys, as well as Cowin, and the only questions he felt he had to answer were about who would go next. His problem was that he liked everybody in the tribe, and wanted to be allied with all of them. But that simply could not happen. Laura was a little perplexed that there wasn’t as many votes for Cowin as she thought there was going to be. I guess she hadn’t thought that the other alliance would come together so quickly, or that some of the girls would vote another girl out. It was certainly a surprise. Clements began to focus on making sure Pitman and company knew he was useful in the tribe.

Breema Tribe

Avoiding Tribal Council had been a welcome break as Breema followed up a poor showing with a very convincing win. The whole team stepped up and filled their roles with hard work, especially Bryant, Silas, Fournie, Nathalie and Mandy. The other guys in the tribe were no slouches however, and it really has to be said that no tribe mate was too weak in weak two. Micah spent a lot of time this last week getting to know the other guys in his tribe. His close friend Pat was voted out in week one, so he knew that it was up to him to secure his spot going into the next couple weeks. He had some really good strengths, and his tribe needed to know that. Gerry, who has many strengths n this game felt fairly confident that his tribe would not vote out all 6”8 of him. The three girls had become pretty close with Silas, Fournie most of all, and were fairly comfortable with him. Jord, Barry and Trotman also spent some time fishing, happy that they didn’t have to worry about voting anybody out soon.

The Immunity Challenge

Today, the venue for the challenge is a giant platform suspended over the water. It is in the shape of a very large circle. All the members from all four tribes will begin on top of this platform. The object of this challenge is to knock all the members from the other tribes off of the platform. Anything goes, as this will be a very rough challenge. The attribute weightings are as follows:

Speed: 30%
Strength: 50%
Problem-Solving: 0%
Strategizing: 0%
Teamwork: 20%

So all four tribes begin separated on the platform and the game begins. Most of the larger guys from all four tribes run into the middle and clash, while some of the girls and the smaller guys stay on the outskirts and try to just speed around avoiding falling off. Here’s who falls off when (this is based on individuals’ statistics and team stats):
After Five Minutes: Lauren, Nathalie, Laura, Chelsea, Amanda
After Fifteen Minutes: Jill, Mandy, Micah, Greg, Tyla, Cait, Millar, Steve, Binny
After Twenty Minutes: Damien, Elliot, Kyle, Cam, Hinton, James, Graham, Silas, Gerry

So here’s who is left after Twenty Minutes: Heidman, Hackett, Tyler, Beckie, Dirks, Jones, Pitman, Cowin, Clements, German, Jord, Trotman, Barry.

Step by step, here is the finale of the Immunity Challenge…

With four people left, the members of Kichanga decided to stick close to eachother and let the others fight it out. Cowin and Pitman from Hartolo were menacing and kept running at people. Barry and Jones were duking it out, while Dirks tried and succeeded in knocking Jord into the water. Hackett tried to grab Clements who was running around trying to avoid people, and German knocked Hackett off the platform. Tyler was able to knock Trotman off. Barry and Jones decided to work together and were able to get rid of German. But then Jones turned on Barry and was able to shove him into the water, which officially eliminated Breema. With just Dirks and Jones left, Margani was in rough shape, and it got even worse for them when Pitman and Cowin grabbed Dirks, lifted him into the air and hurled him out into the water. Tyler eliminated Clements. Soon, Beckie was able to trip up Jones, and Heidman delivered the final blow to Margani, jumping at Jones, knocking both of them off the platform into the water.

This means that surviving the challenge was Tyler, Beckie, Pitman and Cowin. It also means that Kichanga and Hartolo are Immune, while Margani and Breema must go to Tribal Council this week.

Keys to Victory (defeat):

Kichanga: Their speed and strength were just too much for the other tribes. While their teamwork is still low, their amazing athleticism is able to overshadow that weakness. Beckie, Tyler and Heidman were very strong in this challenge. As long as the challenges continue to involve mainly athleticism, Kichanga will be in very good shape.

Hartolo: It was really their strength and teamwork that pulled off this victory. Hartolo’s speed is poor, but other skills make up for it. As stated, Cowin and Pitman were very good in this challenge, but German was also very effective. Clements also lasted a while based on his ability to avoid trouble.

(Margani): While they had a few people who lasted, there really was no one on this tribe that excelled in this challenge. While they have some high attributes, Margani still lacks in speed and strength. While their teamwork is adequate, it is not the best of the tribes. Jones and Dirks did very well in the challenge, and Cam, Hinton and James did alright. Jill also did surprisingly well. Don’t get carried away, this was almost purely a physical challenge. Many of the other ones will be intellectually based.

(Breema): Their speed really is not high, at best all three attributes used in this challenge are average on Breema. Their strengths lie in other areas. Barry, Trotman and Jord did very well. Silas and Gerry both did not do as well as expected. Their girls were nowhere to be found on the scoresheet. It is alright to be weak at these challenges, because Breema will be very good in the more intellectual ones. Back to Tribal Council again…

So here is how I am going to compile votes. I have told you guys in the past that you can change your votes any time up until I post the Tribal Council on Wednesday or Thursday. Here is what I am going to change about that: You can change your votes up until I have ALL the votes from your tribe. So if you need to wait, wait. If you want to gimme a vote, you risk not being able to change it. If everyone votes quickly, I can get this game moving more smoothly. So, here are the people who need to email me their votes this week.

Margani:
Dirks
Jones
James
Steve
Jill
Greg
Hinton
Chelsea
Cam

Breema:
Silas

Week Two Tribal Council

Hartolo before Tribal Council

Going into their first Tribal Council, the members of Hartolo didn’t really know what to expect. They knew that they should try to get rid of their weakest member, but how would they go about it? Pitman and Cowin decided that they would get to decide who it would be, and they took to telling their friends who to vote off. They started by talking to German, Millar and Graham. It was painfully obvious that these five guys were close, and that if anyone was going to stand against them, it would have to be in one unified attack. And the boys even were able to contact some of the girls, make some promises and make some progress. Things seemed the be going the way of the boys.

Hartolo Tribal Council

3rd Vote: Michelle
4th Vote: German
5th Vote: Michelle
6th Vote: Michelle
7th Vote: Michelle
8th Vote: Michelle
9th Vote: Michelle
10th Vote: Michelle

So with seven out of ten votes against, Michelle Whiting-Hodgson is the first person voted out of Hartolo, and the third out of Survivor Hamilton Two.

Margani before Tribal Council

No tribe in Survivor Hamilton history has even been so split before. From the beginning there were definite factions, but some people began talking to both sides and switching over from one side to the other, and vice versa. One side had begun with Jill, Cam, Greg and Chelsea, but had attempted to get to know the other people and maybe make some more friends. The other side had begun with Dirks, James and Siobhan but had done the same thing. The people who had not started in a certain alliance now had the tough decisions of who to side with. While the people who begun the alliances had to decide whether or not they wanted to stay with their current allies, or make new ones. It would definitely be interesting.

Well I’m not sure how well all of you count, but it appears we have a tie. Both Greg Beurling and Siobhan Wilson have received five votes against, which means we have a predicament don’t we? Here’s how we are going to resolve this situation:

Between now and Saturday/Sunday when I post the third week of Survivor Hamilton Two I need everyone from Margani EXCEPT Greg and Siobhan to re-vote. You can ONLY vote for either Greg or Siobhan. Whoever gets the most votes against in these next couple days will be eliminated and I will post it at the beginning of the next week. If you don’t vote, I just will not take your vote into account. You will not be eliminated if you don’t vote, but remember whoever gets the most votes against between Greg and Siobhan will be eliminated. If during the weekend it is still a tie, I will randomly eliminate one of them. You probably don’t want it to go that far.

For now, I will give you guys a little more information about Greg and Siobhan.

Greg Beurling:

Besides Dirks, Greg is one of the fastest members of Margani. While he is not the fastest or strongest, he helps your athletics averages more than Siobhan does. Greg also has exceptional strategizing skills, which will keep your average very high.

Siobhan Wilson:

Siobhan’s main addition to your tribe is very good teamwork. With her, your teamwork remains high in comparison to the other tribes. Also, compared to the other women in your tribe, Siobhan is very athletic, and can be an asset in that area.

Both Greg and Siobhan have definite strengths in your tribe, and when you vote one out, some averages will go down, while others will go up. It is up to you to decide. If I could offer one more piece of advice... alliances don't matter if you can't win challenges. Make sure you stay loyal, while giving your tribe the best chance to win that you can. If you feel that going against your alliance is the better choice, then be honest and tell them, because you don't want to be sorry later when your tribe can't stop losing.

These people should probably vote within the next couple days:
Dirks
James
Jill
Steve
Chelsea
Hinton
Cam
Jones

But for now, post to wish Michelle happy trails in life apart from Survivor.

Week Two

Kichanga Tribe

Coming off the first Tribal Council, Kichanga was down. They had had to vote out Lindsay Eby, which was merely according to plan for some of the guys in the tribe. Hackett and Damien still weren’t talking, and it was beginning to take its toll on the tribe. Binny decided to try to help the two tribemates reconcile, but for now it just wasn’t to be. Beckie had not really expected her close friend Eby to get voted out so soon, so she had to scramble to make sure that her other friends would still try to keep her around. Lauren and Tyler continued to strategize, mainly with Kyle. Elliot, Scott and Binny also had many talks, some of which included various other people, mostly Kyle and Tyler. But they still had to focus on improving their teamwork, or else they would lose yet again.

Margani Tribe

Fresh off an Immunity Challenge first place, the spirits at Margani were very high. Some had felt that their tribe was weak, but with such a good level of teamwork, Margani felt very strong going into the second challenge. Feeling so good, nobody wanted to think of strategy, but planning happening was inevitable. The three guys from Camp Mini-Yo-We, Steve, James and Matt were pretty close, and spent a lot of time talking. It was not an alliance, but it was friendship, and some people were edgy around the three of them. Jill spent some time with Cam, Greg and Chelsea, not talking strategy but catching up, because Chelsea had not seen the three of them for some time. Dirks, Siobhan and Jones worked on making some food for the group, and they began to talk about who they should include in their little dealio. Margani had definite factions, but when it came to challenges, they were one united team.

Hartolo Tribe

Some people in the tribe had not thought that they could pull off a win in the first Immunity Challenge, but they did win. Cowin and Pitman felt like partying, and they jumped in the water, and had a swim. Tyla and Cait joined them in the river, and they began talking about all sorts of things. Cowin and Pitman specifically wanted to make sure that Tyla and Cait knew that they would be taken care of. Clements spent some time with Michelle, because she was the only other person on his tribe that he knew well. They talked for a time, but no plans were made. Graham, German and Millar spent some time around the fire talking about many different things, and strategy came up, but Millar didn’t want to talk about strategy if Pitman wasn’t involved, because he knew Pitman would get paranoid. Graham felt safer talking with German alone anyways. Laura spent most of the day with different people, getting the lay of the land. She connected the most with Tyla and Cait. After today, Clements felt more comfortable in the tribe, and really enjoyed joking around with Pitman and Cowin.

Breema Tribe

Micah had finally put aside his rivalry with Pat, but unfortunately it was just before Pat was voted out by the rest of the tribe. It had come as a surprise to Micah and Gerry that the rest of the tribe had come together so quickly in unification against Pat. Now they really had to work on convincing the rest of the tribe that they had qualities which the tribe desperately needed. Gerry had smarts and was the strongest person in the tribe, while Micah had high teamwork as well as strength. In a tribe desperately needing strength, both Micah and Gerry were good to keep around. The rest of the tribe, who voted together, was feeling pretty confident going into the next couple challenges. They knew that about half of the challenges would be intellectually based, and that Breema was full of problem-solving talents. Silas spent a lot of time talking to the girls in the tribe about strategy, and the other guys, Barry, Trotman and Jord also talked some strategy. It wasn’t that important though, as all of Breema knew they weren’t gonna lose again for a long time.

The Immunity Challenge

This weeks Immunity Challenge involves, speed, teamwork, but most of all problem-solving attributes. There are a bunch of puzzle pieces floating out in the water. All the tribe-mates must swim out to get the puzzle pieces, then bring them back and assemble the puzzle on the beach. The attribute weightings are as follows:

Speed: 20%
Strength: 0%
Problem-Solving: 50%
Strategizing: 0%
Teamwork: 30%

To briefly explain how the challenge works from my end, I have given each person in the game a number ranking between 3 and 7 in each of the attribute categories. 7 being the highest a person can be, and 3 the lowest. I then calculate the average attribute rank for each tribe, based on all the members of the tribe. I then multiply the average with the attribute weighting for each challenge. So for this challenge, I multiply the problem-solving average of each tribe by 50. I then add all the totals up to a grand total. The two tribes with the highest grand total win the challenge. Its as easy as that. That is why you want to have each attribute accounted for in your alliances.

As both Margani and Hartolo have one extra member, they will have to sit one contestant out for the challenge. In the spirit of good old competition, the Kichanga and Breema tribes will get to decide who has to sit out from Margani and Hartolo. They choose Nathan Dirks to sit out for Margani, and Peter German to sit out for Hartolo. As a rule, the competitor who is chosen to sit out, cannot be chosen again to sit out until every other person in the tribe has sat out at least once. Let the competition begin.

With all their speed, Kichanga again started with an early lead over the other three tribes. They were the first to begin bringing pieces back to the beach. The swimming section was lead mainly by Scott, Elliot and Tyler. For Breema, Silas and Barry really worked hard to keep up second place by each bringing back many puzzle pieces. Hartolo was in third, but there was only so much that Graham and Clements could do, with Pitman, Millar and Cowin who were not strong swimmers. With Dirks, sitting out, Margani noticeably lacked speed, and fell very far behind. So Kichanga was the first to bring back all their pieces, followed by Breema, Hartolo and Margani.

The puzzle building section was a different story altogether. Kichanga again could not work as a team and began to lose ground to the other tribes, specifically Breema who was blowing through their puzzle. In no time, Breema had completed their puzzle, and were first place. But with Margani and Hartolo both missing their best all around athletes, Kichanga was able to keep a slight lead despite their lack of team work, and soon Kichanga finished their puzzle as well.

Even though they already had lost the challenge, the two remaining tribes continued to put their puzzles together. The girls of Hartolo finished the puzzle first, and Jill finally finished the puzzle for Margani without much help from her tribe. So this week was the opposite of last week, mainly because of the “sitting out” rule, as Kichanga and Breema won immunity.

Keys to Victory (or defeat)

Kichanga: Scott, Tyler, Elliott, Damien and Beckie really worked hard swimming out to bring back the puzzle pieces, taking an early lead. When it came to putting together the puzzle, Kyle, Lauren and Binny worked really well together to get the job done. Their only problem was that other teammates kept trying to interfere with the puzzle building.

Breema: While not a fast tribe, Silas, Barry, Jord and Trotman worked really hard to get those pieces and remain in second place. When it came to putting together the puzzle, all three girls, Nathalie, Fournie and Mandy got the job done with time to spare.

(Margani): Without Dirks, their speed was just not up to par. While they still had really good teamwork in Jill, Jones, Cam and Siobhan, their lack of speed put them behind early. They started to catch up in puzzle building, with Jill and Steve taking the reigns, but it would not be enough.

(Hartolo): Graham and Clements being the fastest in the tribe had to do most of the swimming, and the two of them could not compare to the fastest from the other three tribes. Cait and Tyla in particular helped to pick up the slack left by the bigger guys in the tribe (Pitman, Cowin and Millar.) Without German, their problem-solving also lacked punch, and Michelle, Laura and Cowin could not work together like was needed. They finished third, but it was not good enough.

So the members of Margani and Hartolo must all give me a vote by Wednesday night at the latest. Remember, when you are making alliances, that it will be a good idea to keep at least one member with each attribute as their strongest around. Because all the challenges use a combination of all the attributes, you don’t want to be left with a really low average in any of the characteristics.

I need a vote from:

Margani Tribe:
Dirks
James Lee
Jill
Steve
Siobhan
Cam
Chels
Greg
Jones
Hinton

Hartolo Tribe:
Cowin
Pitman
Graham
Laura
Tyla
Cait
Michelle
Millar
German
Clements

Please vote swiftly.

Week One Tribal Council

Kichanga before Tribal Council

Leading up to the first Tribal Council of Survivor Hamilton Two, the mood at Kichanga was not a very light and peaceful one. People were stressed, because they didn’t want to be the first contestant voted out… nobody did. It was also very apparent that there were people who had strong wills and a focus on winning the game, and that there were a few people who didn’t really have the motivation to make good things happen. Lindsay Eby for example spent lots of time around the fire with different people at different times, like Beckie, Hackett, Binny and Damien, but they never really talked strategy. The guys like Kyle, Scott, Tyler and Elliott thrived on talking strategy. While there was not a set alliance per say, there was mostly a general consensus on who should be voted out first. The majority of the group knew there would be some votes for random people, but they trusted that they would get their way.

Kichanga Tribal Council
1st Vote: Kyle
2nd Vote: Eby
3rd Vote: Eby
4th Vote: Eby
5th Vote: Damien
6th Vote: Eby
7th Vote: Binny
8th Vote: Eby
9th Vote: Eby
10th Vote: Eby

So that means, the first person voted out of Kichanga, and Survivor Hamilton two is… Lindsay Eby.

Breema before Tribal Council

Unlike Kichanga, everybody in Breema engaged in talks. Some people like Micah, Pat and Gerry were slower to get started, but in the end everybody wanted a piece of that action. While some were focused on increasing their average speed and strength, others, like Pat and Micah, who maybe lacked some of those skills didn’t really think it was a good idea. People in the tribe seemed to be listening to Silas first and foremost, as he was athletic, and people trusted him. For the most part there seemed to be a consensus of who should go, and they went to voting.

Breema Tribal Council
1st Vote: Nathalie
2nd Vote: Pat
3rd Vote: Nathalie
4th Vote: Nathalie
5th Vote: Pat
6th Vote: Pat
7th Vote: Pat
8th Vote: Pat
9th Vote: Pat
10th Vote: Pat

So, with seven votes against, it appears Pat Sutherland is the first person voted out of Breema, and the second person voted out of Survivor Hamilton Two.

Next time on Survivor Hamilton… Kichanga and Breema attempt to even the score, and Kichanga attempts to get to the bottom of who voted for who…

So post a comment bidding Eby and Pat a fond farewell. I will miss them.
